If you remember all the way back to this past December, we featured an awesome giveaway with Black Rhino Wheels where we collaborated to give a set of new rollers to one winner, a deserving TREAD reader. You all voted in the contest and selected our winner, John Battersby! Well, he’s got the wheels on his 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 and we’ve gotta say, they look awesome. John chose a good-looking set of Black Rhino Armory wheels that have earned him lots of “head snaps” from other drivers on the road. We can’t blame them; if we saw this truck in the wild, we’d be snapping our heads to look, too. John bought this 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 in late 2019, used with 12,000 miles on it. “The whole idea behind the truck was a budget way to get out and explore during the lockdown. Budget was the key thing,” he explains, so a set of free wheels came in clutch. “All of the work was done by friends and I in garages and driveways, as a way to save money.” Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Everything’s better with with fresh rollers Exterior Add-Ons ARB Summit bumper Warn VR Evo 10s winch Xtrusion Overland bed rack Smittybilt tent Lighting from Rough Country and Amazon, connected through a LightForce dash panel Eibach ProTruck suspension with the front set to 3.75″ of lift Autoleaf Add-A-Leaf added to the rear for added weight capacity Ebay-sourced diff drop kit to mellow CV angles 275/75R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3 wrapped around Black Rhino Armory wheels Custom-built wood frame bed cargo system High lift and hydraulic jack, recovery gear, shovel, axe, cargo retention, etc. Interior Upgrades Comms are handled through CB and Baofeng GRMS radios through an Alamosa Antenna Course Motorsports magnetic mount with phone running the GAIA GPS app Dometic and Alpicool refrigeration 1500 watt Jackery Solar Generator What’s Next for Our Black Rhino Giveaway Winner?
