The Bluetooth Speaker You Always Wanted

For the longest time, I have wanted a nice Bluetooth speaker to take with me when I go places.

I am always on the lookout for a good deal and a few months ago, Amazon was running a promotion on a small ANKER battery-powered speaker for $27, shipped. Normally, it was over $75, so I could not pass this up. Several days later, I got the speaker and while it did its job, it was without any amount of soul, and I have relegated it to desk work.

This past week, I decided I was finally going to order the JBL Xtreme wireless speaker as it was 25-percent off on JBL’s website, and I was ready to pull the trigger with summer fast approaching. Normally $299.99, this is not a cheap speaker by any stretch of the word, but at $225 with free shipping from JBL, it was a lot easier to swallow.

Measuring in at just under 5 inches tall and 12 inches long, and a solid 4.5 lbs., it is still compact enough to stow away on your camping trip or on the shelf in your garage, yet large enough that it can actually make some decent bass. Fidelity is also on point with two large tweeters and two large woofers being powered by two 20w bi-amps, coming through Bluetooth 4.1. A massive 37Wh lithium battery keeps this bad boy going up to 15 hours on a single charge and can also power other devices via a USB connection. Siri and Google Play functionality is retained with a built-in microphone and noise cancelling software. If you are willing to let the world know that your mom still loves her little boy oh so very much, you can and you can tell her back. And to top it all off, it is water resistant, so you do not need to worry about it getting wet.

Available in three colors; Black, Blue and Red, this portable speaker will not disappoint and has already earned itself a seat at every outing where jams will improve the experience.

If you would like to know more or purchase one of these cool little speakers, visit JBL’s website.
